SPRING FEVER

Day after day I am dreaming of it finally being Spring again! Although I enjoy the Winter season because of the Holidays, families being together, snow, and bringing out my winter clothes; I am looking forward to the months ahead.

The days begin to seem longer as we "Spring Forward" with the clocks and get to enjoy the warming of the sunshine.

The Sun is heating up the days so I can bring out my shorts and t-shirts and I can be able to enjoy a nice afternoon with family playing volleyball and boccee ball. I even look forward to playing a round of golf with Simon as I have had my own set of golf clubs for 2 years and I have never actually played a game but only been to the driving range.

I am ready for a tan to hit my body and to begin the "glow"- although I am not yet ready for a bikini I am working really hard at the gym. While I am at the gym running all I picture in my head is what I am going to look like in the bathing suit, tanning at the pool, and walking along the beach.... I CANT WAIT!!!

I am ready for the flowers to bloom and to hear the happy chirps of the baby birds. Some people say depression hits in the winter due to the weather and "greyness" of the environment... Spring bring people out of their "funks" and we begin to laugh louder and wear the vibrant bright colors of the season.

Easter is the Holiday of all Holidays! Although Christmas is fun and we get to celebrate the birth of our Savior.... Easter lets us celebrate the fact that Jesus died on a cross for US and WE will have eternal life with Him in His kingdom because he rose from the dead. Thank You Jesus for rising for us. Easter brings the family together which I always look forward too.

We also get to celebrate My Brothers birthday (WOW- he is going to be 22), My sister-in-law (Cheryl) birthday, and we also celebrate Mothers Day which my family always cooks out and we just enjoy our time together.

Baseball Season will begin!!! Right now they are in Florida for Spring Training but Opening Day is April 5th!!! Cant wait! GO Braves... and GO Pirates!!!! (although I live in Georgia where I cheer on the Braves, I also cheer on Brandon Moss, Simon and my friend from high-school.)

Although I have terrible allergies in the Spring Season- I will bare it if I can have everything else!!

SPRING CANT GET HERE FAST ENOUGH!!!!!

Tasty Tuesday- S'MORE Brownies

Enjoy a delicious recipe from MY family to YOURS!
Happy Tasty Tuesday!!!!

S'MORE Brownies

  • One box brownie mix (I use Duncan Hines- be sure to get the 13x9 size- not 9x9)
  • One cup chocolate chips
  • One cup graham cracker crumbs- crackers roughly crushed by hand
  • One cup miniature marshmallows
  • 12 whole marshmallows
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350*F.
Prepare brownie mix according to directions, replacing water with milk.
Mix in chocolate chips, crushed graham crackers and miniature marshmallows.
Pour into greased 13 x 9 pan and place the twelve whole marshmallows on top.
Bake for 25 minutes- or until moist crumbs stick to a toothpick inserted in the middle.

These are best eaten when completely cooled, but is you want to dig in while still warm, cut with a knife dipped in hot water to get a clean cut.

Store tightly wrapped in foil!

ENJOY!

REALLY????

So...

I work at The Little Gym where I teach gymnastics classes, sports skills classes, and dance classes.

We also do birthday parties on the weekend... TOTALLY worth it! They are so much fun.

I Highly recommend everyone at least once take their child up to at least take a trial class... they are free and you can find out if its something your kids are interested in. We start at 4 months old (parent child classes) and go all the way up to the age of 12.

Anyways, that is not why my title is called "Really???"

Well, today I worked 3 classes (pre-k dance, pre-k gymnastics, and grade school) I also worked 2 birthday parties.

I LOVE my job.... I love the people I work with and the kids and the parents.

Today, during my last b-day party we had a child throw-up... that does not bother me, it happens. That is my job to clean it up, so I did and tried not to vomit myself (just thinking about it makes my throat feel choked up).

The parent of this child did not once say "sorry" or even try and help me clean up. I understand it was my job but they sat there and watched me clean while kids are trying eat around where I am cleaning.

But not even saying "sorry?" It Irked me a little. Would that bother you or not? Just curious.

Other then that it was a GREAT day and I even made some extra money in tips from the party!

Please, Please, Please contact us one day and we would LOVE to have you visit our gym... it is SO much FUN!!!!

Not Me Monday... 1st try.

I do NOT enjoy reading Lily's (Simons Cousin) 'Not me Monday' blogs. Ever since I read her first one I have NOT wanted to try and write one. Writing this is NOT going to confuse me and I am NOT going to have to re-read this to make sure I am writing the word "NOT".

I am NOT going to write about the weekend even though I am NOT suppose to write about Mondays.

Friday we did NOT expect to get an inch of snow.

And we definitely did NOT end up with 4 inches of snow by 6:00 and it did NOT continue to snow until 11:00.

I was NOT excited to get out of work early and I was NOT excited about playing in the snow. I did NOT sled down my steep driveway and I did NOT have a huge snowball fight.

I did NOT have to work all day Saturday and by the time I got out of work all of the snow was NOT all melted. I was NOT sad to see the snow leave.

Simon and I did NOT spend the entire Valentine's Day with family and I did NOT have more fun than I thought I would!!!

I did NOT take a 2 mile hike at Stone Mountain Park with Simon's Aunt Tanya, Aunt Stephanie, and cousin Madison. It was NOT fun.

I did NOT wake up sore this morning and my foot does NOT feel broken. I am NOT trying to work all day with a hurt foot.

Simon did NOT wake up this morning at 3:00 because my dog was NOT crying. Simon did NOT wake up an hour later to get ready for his first day of work. Simon was NOT excited and he is NOT nervous. I amNOT proud of my wonderful Husband.

I am NOT sitting here eating chocolates from Valentine's Day when I am NOT suppose to be on a diet.

I am NOTenjoying writing my first 'Not Me Monday' Blog!!!

MY TOP 10 FAVORITES... at the moment!

Everyone has items or things that make them smile.

People are ALWAYS asking me "whats new in your life?" I dont always have an answer... but I DO have some things that I love that I can let people know about.

Here is a list of my top 10 favorite things right now in my life...

1. Scentsy Candle

My boss' wife, Tammy, sells the Scentsy Candles and they are fabulous. Its a candle without a wick and flame. You simply plug it in and put your scent cube in the top of the holder. The heat from the light bulb melts the scent/candle wax and it freshens up your entire room. And the scents are so refreshing. If anyone is interested I will send you her information.

I ordered 3 scents: Paradise Pineapple (which is burning right now; its Simons favorite), Pretty in Pink (its a floral scent) and Skinny Dipping (its a sweet fresh smell).

2. Michael Buble CD "CRAZY LOVE"

This is a GREAT album!!! I listen to it all the time. Its a mix of a jazz/pop theme and he remakes several older love songs from different eras. My favorite song on there is "Haven't Met You Yet" which is his first hit single. It you get a chance- check this album out! (PLUS he is cute too!)

3. General Hospital

I know many people think Soap Operas are a waste of time.... well, I LOVE them! I grew up with my mom watching All My Children so it only came natural when I picked up on the soaps. Now I know most people watch 1 soap... but I am addicted to 3 soaps. I watch All My Children, One Life to Live, and General Hospital (all the ABC soaps). Although I have been watching AMC and OLTL the longest, GH has caught my eye and I look more forward to 3:00 than ever!

I LOVE how its not the typical soap... it involves the Italian Catholic family and the Mob (much like my family.... except for the mob part. ) Right now I am loving the Dante/Dominic story where he is an undercover cop and he is trying to put Sonny (his dad.... but he doesn't know he is his dad- typical soap storyline) who is the Mob Boss in jail! Sonny shot Dominic not realizing its his son. Its GREAT! =) I also think the guys in this show are HOT! and I cant wait until Ethan gets together with Kristina.... its so obvious they are going to be together.... AHH!!! I love this show!

4. Punch Home Design

I have always dreamed of what my perfect house would be like and I use to draw out floor-plans for my ideal house. So the other day Simon came home with a surprise, he bought the Punch Home Design computer program. I have already created 2 houses but its a work in progress because I am still trying to figure it all out. Its giving me something to work on and dream about. Hopefully in the next year and a half we can begin to think about a new house and maybe we can use one of my designs for ideas. I cant wait!!!

5. LOST

So... I am obsessed with the TV show LOST. I am constantly listening to Simon say "I am so lost!", simply because he thinks its hilarious. Tuesday aired the first episode of the final season; it was 2 hours long but it went by so fast. Questions are going to begin to get answered and I feel my heart pounding with excitement to find out something new on the show. This IS by far the most exciting show on TV and I am going to be so sad when it goes off of the air in May, but for now, I look forward to Tuesday nights at 9:00 on ABC.

6. Charming Charlie

This is the BEST accessories store ever. I first found this store around Christmas time and I was blown away with the entire store. When I walked into the store I was so overwhelmed. All the jewelry, handbags, scarves, etc. are color coordinated around the store and when I mean color coordinated.... I mean there is something for EVERY COLOR. If I ever have to get something to match an outfit.... I will ALWAYS go to Charming Charlies. Not only is it easy to find what you want but its VERY affordable. It is located at The Avenue at Webb Gin Road near Victoria Secret and The Gap! I hope you all at least go up there and step into the store... once you do... you will be amazingly in love!

7. Random calls from Dylan

My Nephew Dylan has recently found out how to call someone on his mom/dad's cell phone... he is 2!!! I randomly get phone calls and all I hear is breathing. I say "hello?" and all he says is...
"Hi"
"Christy"
"Simon"
"Bye".... click!
Its so sweet to hear his little voice and he sounds so excited to hear someone else on the other end on the phone. I LOVE my random calls. He is the cutest kid ever and is so fun to be around and talk to. I love hearing him talk... each week its more and more words. Its great!!!

8. Yellow Box Flip Flops

I do not always wear flip flops but I want to recommend these flip flops to everyone!! They are called Yellow Box. They are by far the most comfortable shoe ever, the sole is thick black foam. they are amazing!!!

9. Chuck

Simon and I LOVE TV.... I think we are addicted but we enjoy watching shows together. Our other favorite show is Chuck, it comes on Monday nights at 8:00 on NBC. Chuck is about secret agent spies trying to protect Chuck, a nerd/geek at heart, who accidentally downloaded all of the governments secrets into his head. He IS the only copy of these secrets, therefore he IS the most important thing and must stay alive. Simon and I love the tension between Chuck and his partner Sarah, for they secretly really like each other and then we get great Comedy from the other agent Casey and Chucks friend Morgan. This show is great!!!

10. BAKED Potato Chips

I really enjoy potato chips, yet I know they are not healthy. A big part of my diet it to be able to eat the same kind of foods yet in a different way. These Chips taste delicious yet not at many calories. My favorite is the baked Cheetos.... I can not even tell they aren't regular Cheetos; I also like the baked Doritos. YUMMY!!!!!

I hope you enjoyed my favorite top 10 things at this moment!
